Take the next step in your Public Sector Career
We offer a range of courses from the current Public Sector Training Package (PSP04) that are both practical and relevant to your work and career pathway

Language Tuition

We offer a range of language training options for your organisation.

Our courses focus on practical and effective communication skills in speaking, listening, reading and writing in the target language.

Cultural aspects of the target country are also tightly embedded in all language training sessions.

Survival Courses

Survival courses are based on a framework of between 2 to 6 weeks, one-to-one language tuition, with an end result enabling the students to:

  • interact with others on a range of topics and in various situations at a basic level
  • find, understand and use information for survival purposes
  • plan, negotiate and organise simple transactions:
    • perform simple tasks in grammatically accurate and appropriate language
    • perform simple functions with numbers
    • read and understand the gist of simple passages (in some languages)
    • demonstrate and apply appropriate sociocultural knowledge and sensitivity.

Immersion Courses

Immersion courses are conducted over a one week period where participants are totally immersed in the target language.

During the course, active skills are engaged with focus on each of the linguistic macro skills required to acquire a good, professional command of the target language.

Intensive Courses

This training is normally conducted on a one-on-one basis for 3 hour per day, five days per week over 6 to 12 months.

Officers undertake long-term training to enable them to develop a professional level of language proficiency.

The actual period of long-term language training provided to officers to gain a professional level of language proficiency depends on the officer's existing proficiency in the required language, resources and operational requirements.

Discussion Groups or Conversation Classes

A variation on small group language training is Discussion Groups or Conversation Classes

These classes are usually conducted for staff within larger organisations who need to maintain proficiency and fluency in a chosen language.

Classes are conducted once a week for a minimum of one hour in duration.

Although any subject may be discussed, the criteria is that all conversation during these classes be conducted in the designated language learnt.
