CIT Solutions celebrates Rebecca Martin, ACT Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Student of the Year 2024 and our ongoing commitment to Indigenous apprentices
Rebecca Martin and 4 other learners from CIT Solutions’ Indigenous Apprenticeship Program (IAP) were finalists in the 2024 ACT Training Awards, with Rebecca winning the ACT Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Student of the Year.
Rebecca is a proud Wiradjuri woman. She completed the Diploma of Government at CIT Solutions as part of the IAP, a partnership between CIT Solutions and Services Australia. The IAP prepares First Nations learners for careers in the Australian Public Service and supports the whole-of-government Closing the Gap policy.
Rebecca is employed at the Department of Parliamentary Services. She found out about the IAP while searching for work opportunities. Undertaking this Vocational Education and Training pathway enabled her to complete a qualification and gain practical experience in a government agency.
Rebecca was nominated for taking every opportunity to learn new skills and for maximising her participation in the work of her team.
CIT Solutions has over 200 students completing the IAP Diploma of Government for 2025. The Diploma of Government is also being delivered to participants in the Australian Government Apprenticeship Program and is available as a general access program.
