1. Get enough sleep

According to the Sleep Health Foundation, adults from the age of 26 need about 7-9 hours of sleep per night. This may vary from person to person, however, getting enough sleep means you'll be performing at your best every day.

2. Laugh more

Laughter is the best medicine. Laughter can trigger a number of positive physical and emotional changes in the body including; strengthening your immune system, boosting your mood, decreasing pain and protecting you from the damaging effects of stress. The best parts about laughter is it's free and completely natural.

3. Eat a balanced diet

The National Health and Medical Research Council says eating a balanced diet is vital for good health and well-being. Food provides our bodies with the essential energy, vitamins, minerals and nutrients to live, grow and function properly. We also need a wide variety of foods so our body can benefit from different macro-nutrient groups. A balanced diet decreases the risk of many diet-related diseases such as Type 2 diabetes.

4. Exercise regularly

7. Express yourself like no one is looking

Can you think of one moment in your life where you let go of your fear, worry and anxiety and danced like no one is looking? Did it make you feel happy? Life is supposed to be about happiness and your happiness should be of utmost importance, so throw caution to the wind and express yourself like no one is looking.

8. Tell your friends and family you love them every day

There isn't a better feeling than knowing you are loved. Tell those you love every day what they mean to you. You'll not only make them feel good but you'll make yourself feel good.

9. Do something for someone else

This could be as simple as opening a door for someone or letting your colleague into the lift before you. It's these kind gestures and courtesies that are sometimes most meaningful to others. The world would be a better place if there were more kindness in it.
