Stonework Skills

About this course

Led by a qualified and experienced stonemason this course will introduce you to a range of stone walling techniques, giving you skills you can adapt to a variety of projects and situations around the home.

Materials Required: You must bring (and wear) safety gloves, safety goggles and covered in shoes to comply with OH&S requirements. We suggest you wear old clothes.
Please bring your own lunch and/or refreshments for the sessions.
All projects conducted during this course, you will work to you own limitation and may include lifting up to 16kgs (not limited to).

• Rock types, wall types, stone finishes and tools
• Materials handling
• Ordering and storing materials
• Mixing mortar
• Stonemasonry construction

A morning of theory will be followed by hands on construction where you’ll have the opportunity to build walls using a variety of construction techniques.
