About this course
Easy to learn, the fine art of fly fishing is fun for everyone. This course, for beginners and advanced fly fishers alike, will teach you all you need to know from casting techniques through to insect entomology. We also look at tackle selection and show you how to construct a basic fly. Essential for anyone wanting to catch a carp on fly in one of the local lakes, or a trout in a mountain stream.
Materials Required: Leaders, practice casting flies, and fly tying materials for use during the course are provided.
An optional field trip is available at the conclusion of the course (at your own expense) to private waters in the Snowy Mountains.
Additional Information: Danny Spelic has been fishing the local area for more than 30 years. He is a member of the Professional Fishing Instructors and Guides Association and a Federation of Fly Fishers Certified Casting Instructor and has successfully represented Australia in both casting and Fly Fishing at the World and Commonwealth Championships. In his spare time, Danny also contributes to various national and international fishing publications including FlyLife Magazine, Freshwater Fishing Magazine and Sportski Ribolov (one of Europe's premier fishing journals).
