About this course
This hands-on course is designed to provide you with an introduction to essential cabinetmaking techniques using both hand and power tools. Learn about joints, tools tuning, sharpening, assembly, finishing and jig making. You will be constructing a functional small furniture item.
Materials Required: There will be an additional materials fee of $180 to be paid to the course tutor on the first night. This covers the purchase and preparation of quality exotic wood (eg Rosewood, Tasmanian Oak, Silky Oak, Black Heart Sassafras) required for your furniture project as well as finishing consumables such as abrasive paper and lacquer. This is a cash-only payment and correct change would be appreciated.
You will need to bring your own personal protection gear including goggles, dust mask and ear muffs. If you have your own tools eg chisels and plane, please bring to the class and the tutor will show you how to sharpen them and keep them in good working condition.
