About this course
If you would like to do something good for both your mind and body, Mindfulness Through Movement is for you. Suitable for everyone, this introductory course uses gentle movement sequences to calm your mind and at the same time help to improve your mobility and dexterity.
Materials Required: Please wear comfortable clothes. Mats are available or you can bring your own.

Additional Information: The gentle movements taught in this course are based on the Feldenkrais method. As outlined in Norman Doidge’s book The Brain’s Way of Healing, the Feldenkrais method uses the brain’s plasticity (the ability to change the pathways in the brain) to change unhelpful mental and muscle habits. This can help you learn better ways of organising your movement patterns, for example, how to undertake your favourite activities (gardening, sport etc) with greater ease and dexterity.
